Six million years ago, at the very dawn of the starfaring era, Abigail Gentian fractured herself into a thousand male and female clones: the shatterlings. Sent out into the galaxy, these shatterlings have stood aloof as they document the rise and fall of countless human empires. They meet every 200,000 years to exchange news and memories of their travels with their siblings. Not only are Campion and Purslane late for their thirty-second reunion but they have also brought along an amnesiac golden robot for a guest. But the wayward shatterlings get more than the scolding they expect: they face the discovery that someone has a very serious grudge against the Gentian line, and there is a very real possibility of traitors in their midst. The surviving shatterlings have to dodge exotic weapons while they regroup to try to solve the mystery of who is persecuting them and why-before their ancient line is wiped out of existence forever.

Editorial : From Publishers Weekly
Reynolds (The Prefect) returns to the universe of his 2005 novella Thousandth Night in this sprawling novel of intergalactic intrigue. It is 6.4 million years in the future and humanity has spread throughout the Milky Way. Some cultures have established transient empires across space; others, the Lines, have used relativistic travel to colonize deep time. Clone-siblings Campion and Purslane are delayed on their way to a Gentian Line reunion, a coincidence that saves them from a massacre. Allied with potentially hostile Machine People and an enigmatic post-human god called the Spirit, armed only with fragmentary records and hints that Campion's research provoked the mysterious House of Suns, the Gentian survivors struggle to find and stop their enemies before the genocide can be completed. Intriguing ideas and competent characterization make this a fine example of grand-scale relativistic space opera. (June)

I think the author has tried a little too hard to be different. The style is a little verbose, a function of both the authors' programming styles and the naming conventions of EL. They will give you a completely adequate and useful map at that meeting, for free. An amazing book - I highly recommend it.. Wasnt really what I expected. They have a right to feel as they do.
Finding a friendly forum in which to share your feelings may help some women. The 'swans' in the title are the beautiful society women he befriended, and whose husbands thought it was fine. The life of a most complex man is brought to light by Mr. Reed is obviously an expert on jazz and the musicians who made it a jewel of American culture. We cannot possibly know what their daily lives were like in detail, nor we can imagine their personal conversations. One passage that stuck with me was "Feed your heart with the goodness of God." Here, Ms. So I wanted to have a reference that I could check to make sure I am play
