Disabled folks are vulnerable under someone elses care. I think this is a good thing because, instead of being awed and intimidated by some pro's work, you can concentrate on building your own skills. Thanks to her, I will be a teensy bit more social savvy! I would HIGHLY recommend this book for parents, professionals, people on the spectrum themselves and anyone interested in learning about her journey in learning the "hidden curriculum". Many of the stories are terribly sad, but there's a lot that's inspirational about people overcoming traumas.
Some of the chapters are written beautifully, they have lots of dream examples and good advice. She has a way of captivating the reader with wonderfully detailed characters. This program is a great learning tool -- plus, I just listen to a few tracks at a time as a respite, for a brief hypnotic trance--very relaxing..
