Craving exposure, musicians often must capitulate to the system. Awesome book. Big time.
This novel is based on facts but does fill in some of the blanks with literary fiction, which includes a sufficient amount of juicy, catty, backstabbing dialogue. The author is very knowledgeable on this subject. Fred Levin, the larger than life living legend -- nobody in Pensacola says "I'll sue!!!" but they do say "I'll call Fred." There are so many stories that I have heard over the years and now there is a book that sets the record straight I got my copy today and could not put it down until I had read it cover to cover. It reminds Americans of the often hidden cost of our recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan: the physical, emotional, and psychological damage suffered by our military, their spouses, and families. What a wonderful photo journey the author takes us through.
