James Lawless is an extremely talented author. Some of the things I learned are men­tioned in the book -- the pres­ence of mind to meet emer­gen­cies, not pan­ick­ing and con­cen­trat­ing on one job at a time. Paul writes regularly for newspapers, journals and magazines in several countries, both about science and the political and social aspects of science and technology. I read his account out loud to them as we walked down the road and know that it brought insight and meaning to them as it would any American. Admittedly all these totals do include every washer, nut, and bolt. Some passages are excellent, but there is a lot of fluff throughout. Both books have their strengths and weaknesses, but the Mel Bay series will better serve me in my quest to be a competent and serious guitarist..
